Introducing the Assassin's Water Bottle: A world-premier collaboration by Steve Mould and Michael Stevens. A modern take on the legendary assassin’s teapot, this dual-chambered bottle holds two separate liquids, but allows you to pour one at a time. The secret lies in covering one of two air holes with your thumb to deliver the mystery liquid to your unsuspecting guest.

It took two years to vault over some of the surprisingly complex engineering hurdles that make this assassin’s bottle work. Amaze your friends or just use it to carry two different drinks in one marvelous container.

Fill one side with refreshing water and the other with a different drink – a little surprise for your nemesis perhaps. And with a flick of the wrist, you secretly control which beverage makes it out of the bottle.

The Assassin's Water Bottle features a secure locking mechanism to prevent any accidental spills or untimely revelations. No more embarrassing moments during meetings. Or missions.

And if you ever want to reveal how it works, just remove the sleeve to show the transparent bottle beneath. It’s not totally transparent though. The designs on the bottles and the sleeves are full of hidden curiosities.

How it works

BEHIND THE SLEEVES

BRAIDS

A mathematical knot is a closed curve in three-dimensional space - essentially, a curvy shape where the ends connect. Alexander’s Theorem proved that every knot could also be represented as a braid - a ring of intertwined threads that happens to be a perfect thing to decorate a cylinder with. Features a spectrum of eight of our favorite Alexander braids.

KNIGHT'S TOUR

If you place a knight on an empty chess board, it’s possible to visit every square on the board exactly once and end up back where you started using the knight’s unique movement pattern. That’s called a knight's tour, and there are millions of different knight’s tours for a standard 8x8 chessboard. But it’s impossible to create one for a board with an odd number of squares - unless that board is on a cylinder! Say hello to your 9 x 13 knight’s tour.

In the classic arcade game Asteroids, when you fly off the left edge of the screen, you reappear on the right. In other words, the Asteroids universe is topologically equivalent to a cylinder. So we put it on one.

There are only 17 different wallpapers. Which is to say, there are only 17 planar symmetry groups. My favorite is called the p3m1 group, which is almost what is shown on this logo sleeve.

When will the bottles be delivered?

NOW SHIPPING! Your Bottle will arrive in 1-2 weeks from the date you order depending on your shipping address.

Are they dishwasher safe?

No, bottles are hand wash only. 

What age is this recommended for?

Recommended for ages 12 and up.

What type of plastic is the bottle made from?

Our bottles are made from Tritan plastic. It is BPA- and BPS-Free. Tritan plastic is FDA/EFSA-approved for food contact.

How big is the bottle?

900ml (450ml per side) - that’s just over 30oz

Can you use this as an everyday drinking water bottle?

Yes, it's completely functional as a water bottle!

What can I put in the bottle? 

The effect doesn’t work as well with fizzy drinks, the build up of pressure inside is likely to cause issues with the ‘trick’ mechanism. Otherwise, you can use it for any other liquids! I’d use it for wine. You decide.

Can I use this bottle to kill Steve?

No. Only Steve can kill Steve. You may not kill him or anyone else.

Are the images accurate and final?

The design is finalized but there will probably be some minor changes between the exact images you see on the website and the final versions you receive. The functionality of the ‘trick’ and all the Easter eggs in the designs will still be there, and if we see some improvements we’ll add them in.

Why do the signed posters ship separately? 

We need to get the life sized posters to Steve & Michael to autograph which might take more or less time than manufacturing the bottles. We’ll get them to you as soon as possible without risking quantum or real world entanglement.

What else can I do with the bottle? 

Assuming you’re not an assassin, there are other reasons to buy this bottle:

You can carry your expensive electrolyte infused performance enhancing body fuel, and some regular water at the same time

Offer friends red or white wine without swapping bottles

Pour a black coffee and then add milk, as if by magic

Gin and vermouth for your Martini, Mr Bond

Give kids a choice of apple or orange juice from the same bottle

Olive oil on one side and balsamic vinegar on the other for your salad

Do NOT use this to smuggle alcohol into an event. Or do. I’m not your dad.
